Trier train line to be extended
(JB) Rail links between Luxembourg and Trier, in Germany, are to improve thanks to a 19.6 million euro project.
The project will see a two-lane section of track between the major towns extended.
The aim is to improve the quality of journeys for commuters and travellers in general between the Grand Duchy and the German border.
Luxembourg signed a letter of intent committing to the project last week.
The total bill is estimated to cost 19.6 million euros, of which Luxembourg will contribute some 8 million euros.
Work is expected to begin in 2014.
