Two dogs die in road accident
(CS) Two dogs died in a road accident on Monday morning when a lorry crashed into a minivan on the N1 between Grevenmacher and Potaschberg.
The driver of the minivan stopped on the road to let oncoming traffic pass before making a left towards Oberdonven shortly after 11am. A lorry driving behind the van failed to spot that the vehicle had stopped and crashed into the minivan.
The force of the impact caused the minivan to skid to the other side of the road, where it came to a halt by the road-side. Two dogs, which had been kept in a cage in the back of the car, were hurled out of the minivan during the collision and died of their injuries on site.
The drivers of both the minivan and the lorry only suffered minor injuries, but were taken to hospital for a check-up.
