A Luxembourg union has issued an advice pack for students seeking summer or weekend work to ensure they are protected by Luxembourg law.

Union OGBL reminds young people that they are allowed to take on holiday or weekend work from the age of 15 in Luxembourg.

But, they warn young people against the lure of working for cash-in-hand or undeclared jobs.

To avoid the traps and pitfalls of unscrupulous employers, the union's youth department has issued a brochure in French for young people aged 15 to 26 who work part-time.

The leaflet includes information about the law, contracts working conditions, pay, social security and their rights in general.

It also contains a list of useful addresses and examples of student jobs and contracts. Download a copy of the brochure by visiting www.ogbl.lu or order a copy by emailing jeunes@ogbl.lu.
