The virus reproduction rate has recorded an uptick to 0.997 in Luxembourg, yet it remains below one – a sign of a natural eradication of the disease. In the past days, the rate hovered between 0.993 and 0.995.

Luxembourg has tested close to 60,000 people since the start of the pandemic, of which 3,923 tested positive. In the last 24 hours, there were eight new infections, the Health Ministry said on Friday. Four more people were admitted to hospital.

One more person died of Covid-19 – the disease caused by coronavirus – leaving the overall number of the virus fatalities at 104.

Following the partial deconfinement, the government has shortened the working hours of the Covid-19 helpline (8002-8080) with advisors now available from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4 pm.

Over the past weeks, the helpline received over 66,000 calls, with daily peaks ranging from 250 to 1,700 calls.
