Watch the World Cup on the big screen
(CS) Football fans will get to watch the World Cup on the big screen in Luxembourg City, where public viewings will be organised from June 12 to July 13 together with cinema screenings for film fans of all ages.
The public viewings will start on June 12 at 10pm with the match between Brazil and Croatia. A total of 19 matches will be shown live; however, only games that finish before midnight are in the line-up.
On days when no matches are shown there will be outdoor cinema screenings, including afternoon sessions for children.
A final programme will be revealed at a press conference in June, but Luxembourg City has already revealed that there will be a special “warm-up” before each match, with a DJ and other entertainment.
The open-air screen is part of the Summer in the City programme, which sees free concerts and more in the capital each year. On July 5, Place Guillaume II will host world music festival Me You Zik, with Rock um Knuedler scheduled for the following day.
On these dates there will be no World Cup screenings, and football fans will also have to find another TV around National Day, from June 20 to 23.
