What foreign residents say about voting rights

Scores of residents leapt at the chance to share their views about foreigner voting rights on our platform Dear Luxembourgers...

The Facebook page was created by wort.lu in May to share articles and encourage dialogue between foreign residents and natives about the referendum question, one of three which Luxembourgers will decide on June 7.

Among the refrains heard again and again in public meetings, was 'do foreign residents want to be able to vote in national elections in Luxembourg under the criteria proposed?'

While the responses posted on Dear Luxembourgers... showed that there was not a consensus on this issue, they demonstrated a great engagement by foreign residents in the country's political sphere.
