When David met Xavier in Luxembourg
Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel met with his UK counterpart, David Cameron, in Luxembourg for bilateral discussions on Wednesday.
According to a government statement, the meeting at the “Hôtel de Bourgogne”, in Luxembourg City, covered European and International politics, in particular focusing on the priorities of Luxembourg's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, beginning this July.
It is likely that discussions will also have touched on the UK Government's demand for renegotiation of the terms of Britain's EU membership, which will be on the agenda for next week's Brussels summit.
The pair were last year likened by British newspaper the Daily Mail to “two MPs in a pod”, for their apparently similar facial features.
Cameron had flown to Luxembourg on Wednesday for a working dinner.
He will be in Slovenia and Slovakia for the remainder of the week.
