Where to take the kids during the cold season

Even when it is freezing outside, the little ones are always willing to go out and play. Thankfully, the Grand Duchy has plenty of indoor attractions where your kids can let off steam without catching cold.
One of the most well known family entertainment centres is the Zigzag in Bertrange. It has a huge climbing frame for children aged between three and twelve years old and it promises fun not only for them but also for their parents. As for the babies and toddlers aged up to three years old, you'll find the mini zigs, which is a separate play area with some educational games. Opening times: Tuesday - Friday from 10am to 6:30pm, Friday and Sunday from 10am to 6.30pm, Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Monday it is closed.
Yo Yo, Howald
Tucked away in Howald is YoYo, an amazing indoor playground with a jungle adventure theme. It is suitable for children aged three and over, as the younger ones could might be scared by the scenery. Opening times: Monday from 11am to 6pm, Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 10pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 11pm.
Kids' Ville, Beggen
Kids' Ville in Beggen is a family entertainment centre at weekends. It has a big indoor playground for children aged from three to twelve years along with a separate but nearby area for the little babies. Opening Times: Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 6pm.
Multicultural library, Gasperich
For a different but very educational experience, parents should try the sing-along sessions or reading workshops at the multicultural library at Gasperich. In this place both children and parents can have fun and learn while interacting with others from different cultures. Workshop times vary. Please check the website for more information.
Conservatoire de Musique, Merl
The Conservatoire de Musique in Merl offers free fun activities where young children can meet and interact with different instruments and sounds. Check the website for the timetable.
Child-friendly swimming pools
If your children love playing in water, there are a number of good, swimming spots in Luxembourg, from the fantastic family-friendly aquatic center Les Thermes in Strassen to the all-weather swimming pool Syrdall Schwem in Niederanven, among others. Check the websites for a list of opening times.
Food and other tips
In most of the entertainment centres listed you will be able to find nice snacks and even tasty, kid-friendly meals. The weekends are always busy, as expected, as are weekday afternoons. So, if you really want to avoid crowded places, aim to arrive just as doors open.
