Woman injured in hit and run
(CS) Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured in a hit and run on Thursday evening in Esch/Alzette.
A patrol car happened to find the woman shortly after 9pm on Rue de Luxembourg. She had multiple abrasions on her face, but could not remember the accident.
Evidence on site showed that the woman was hit by a car as she was crossing the street near the Aral petrol station, and hurled several metres through the air, hitting the ground at a traffic island.
It was raining heavily at the time of the accident, limiting visibility.
The driver fled the scene without stopping to look after the woman. While only suffering mild injuries, she will have to spend several days in hospital.
Witnesses are urged to call 113.
