Zuckerberg's photos leaked online
(CS) A Facebook software bug has caused problems with the site's privacy protection, leading to founder Marc Zuckerberg's photos to be leaked online.
Because of a programming fault it was possible to access protected photos. When reporting a photo as spam or inappropriate the social networking site allowed users to select other protected photos from the profile for reporting.
The problem only affected certain accounts, including Zuckerberg's, making a limited number of recent photos freely accessible.
A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the incident on Tuesday, saying that the system had been deactivated temporarily until the problem was fixed.
It's not the first time that Facebook has been in the headlines for privacy and data protection issues, but Zuckerberg is probably the most famous victim at the hands of his own invention.
