You say potato, I say 'Gromper'

(JB) The humble potato will be at the heart of celebrations in Binsfeld this Sunday when shoppers can harvest their own spuds.

The annual celebration kicks off in the northern village at 10am with a small presentation, followed by demonstrations of the different methods of harvesting potatoes.

A number of stunningly restored old tractors as well as horse-drawn harvesting machinery will be on display for demonstration.

In the early part of the evening, a potato king and queen will be crowned. All throughout the day, visitors can buy food, most of which is potato-inspired, and drinks on site.

Potatoes can also be purchased. Entry to the festival is free and parking is available at the venue.
